My approach to guitar repair and setup is rooted in precision, experience, and a deep respect for the instrument. I specialize in high-level fret work, where accuracy measured in thousandths of an inch directly translates to feel, tone, and long-term reliability. From meticulous fret leveling, crowning, and polishing to nuanced nut and setup work, every step is performed with the goal of achieving effortless playability, clean intonation, and consistency across the entire fingerboard. Whether working on a vintage instrument or a modern workhorse, my standard is the same: fret work that disappears under the player’s hands and allows the guitar to perform at its absolute best.

Great playability starts at the frets. Every fret job at DFlis Guitar Repair is approached with precision, consistency, and respect for the instrument.
Fret leveling, crowning, and polishing are performed to create a clean, accurate fret plane that allows for low, buzz-free action and a smooth feel across the entire neck. Refrets are carefully executed with attention to fretwire choice, installation method, and final setup so the instrument plays effortlessly while retaining its character.
Vintage instruments are treated with particular care. Original fretboards, binding, and finish are preserved whenever possible, and work is performed with period-correct techniques and materials in mind. The goal is to improve playability without compromising originality, value, or feel.
The result is fret work that disappears under your hands—clean, comfortable, and reliable.
